Todays walk was called Mills and Meadows and started from the VW garage by the old sugarbeet factory in Ipswich where we bumped into our windsurfing friends Peter and Sally who were arranging work to be done on their van too - small world :).Our van had to go in to try and fix an annoying rattle in the door :( so it was a good place to start. We headed to the River Gipping as last week, past several of my favourite old fishing spots to the mill at Sproughton where a new wooden footbridge as been built and the mill is being renovated :) Alot of time has been spent making an easy walking path along the river which I believe goes all the way to Stowmarket !!! but we just carried on past Hazel wood to Bramford.
We crossed the river on Bushmans bridge and headed to the Bramford 'Cock' for a top £12 pub lunch :) this was Mags local when she used to work at Fisons before our boys came along and the landlord was the same !!!!
After lunch we headed across the fields past Thornbush Hall and back to the river at Sproughton. We continued down river to Morisons seeing a kingfisher on route !!! and stopped in Morison cake for coffee and cake :) so two meals out and change from £20 !!! Here we met some old family friends Ray and Jean Mills out shopping and stopped for along chat.I showed them my double page of photo's in the March EADT Suffolk magazine :)
We picked the van up knackered after a 7 mile walk and over 5 hours out !!! The garage said they could'nt find the rattle :( but had cleaned the van for us :) so another top Friday off and maybe some windsurfing over the weekend :)
